SoriNest respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information SoriNest may process, why it is used, and the choices available to you.
1. Information stored on your device
SoriNest may store learning information locally on your device, including lesson progress, vocabulary review history, XP, streak information, daily goals, preferences, profile selections, completed activities and other learning-state information.
2. SoriNest Friends
If you choose to use SoriNest Friends, SoriNest uses Firebase services to create a technical account identifier and provide Friends functionality.
Friends data may include:
- your SoriNest display name;
- a SoriNest friend code;
- technical user identifier;
- learning level and Korean level;
- XP and streak information;
- selected milestone or certificate information;
- friend requests and friend connections;
- block information; and
- safety reports submitted through SoriNest Friends.
Friends is optional. SoriNest does not provide public posts or open chat through the current Friends feature.
3. Microphone and speech processing
SoriNest may request microphone access when you choose speaking or pronunciation activities.
For pronunciation assessment, recorded speech may be securely transmitted through SoriNest's Cloudflare infrastructure to Microsoft Azure Speech services for pronunciation analysis. The returned assessment may include pronunciation, accuracy, fluency, completeness and word-level feedback where supported.
SoriNest does not intentionally store pronunciation recordings as part of your Friends profile.
Some speech-recognition activities may use speech-recognition services provided by your Android device or its configured speech-recognition provider.
4. Text-to-speech and learning audio
SoriNest contains local learning audio. Where local audio is unavailable, text required to generate learning speech may be transmitted through SoriNest infrastructure to an audio-generation service.
5. Firebase and Cloudflare
SoriNest uses Firebase for functionality including SoriNest Friends and related backend services. SoriNest also uses Cloudflare infrastructure for selected server-side services.
6. Why information is processed
Information is processed to:
- provide learning and progress functionality;
- provide SoriNest Friends;
- provide pronunciation and speech features;
- protect users and enforce Friends safety features;
- maintain application security and reliability; and
- respond to support, privacy and safety requests.
7. Reports and blocking
SoriNest Friends provides reporting and blocking controls. Safety reports may contain the reporting user's technical identifier, the reported user's identifier and display name, report reason, report status and timestamp. Reports are intended for SoriNest safety and moderation purposes.
8. Data sharing
SoriNest may transmit limited information to service providers that are required to operate app functionality, such as Firebase, Cloudflare, Microsoft Azure Speech and device speech-recognition services.
SoriNest does not sell personal information to advertisers.
9. Data retention and deletion
Learning information stored only on your device can generally be removed by clearing SoriNest application data or uninstalling the application.
SoriNest includes a control for deleting SoriNest Friends cloud data. You may also request assistance with deletion by contacting sorinest.korean@hotmail.com.

10. Age
The initial release of SoriNest is intended for users aged 13 and older.
11. Security
SoriNest uses reasonable technical measures intended to protect application services and user information. No online system can guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated as SoriNest develops. The updated date at the top of this page will identify the current version.
