These Terms of Use apply when you use SoriNest.
1. Educational purpose
SoriNest provides Korean-language learning material and study tools. Learning results vary between users and SoriNest does not guarantee a particular level of language proficiency.
2. Appropriate use
You agree not to misuse SoriNest, interfere with its services, attempt unauthorised access, abuse application infrastructure, or use SoriNest to harm, harass or impersonate another person.
3. SoriNest Friends and Lounge
If you use Friends or Lounge, you must follow the Friends & Lounge Rules and Privacy Policy. Lounge is for adults aged 18 and older. Messages, voice replies and calls are optional. Calls are not recorded by SoriNest; do not record other learners without permission. Lesson practice with another learner does not guarantee their accuracy or conduct.
SoriNest may restrict access to Friends or other functionality where reasonably necessary to address abuse, safety, security or misuse.
4. Speaking and AI-assisted features
Pronunciation scores and automated feedback are learning aids. Automated speech systems can make mistakes and their scores should be treated as coaching rather than definitive judgments about your Korean ability.
4a. Optional coin packs and books
Core Korean lessons, the Hangul Foundations PDF and the Everyday Korean 1 PDF remain free. Optional coin packs are one-off Google Play purchases, not subscriptions. Google Play shows the price and currency before you confirm. Coins can also be earned through eligible learning activities. Shop prices are shown before an unlock; where both are available, earned coins are used first. Purchased coins do not expire and belong to the connected SoriNest account. They are for use within SoriNest and cannot be transferred between learners or redeemed for cash.
Optional full lesson books can be unlocked with coins and downloaded again using the same account. Saved PDFs are for your personal study and printing, not resale or public redistribution. Internet is needed to verify purchases, unlock online items and download books. Connecting an email does not back up your locally stored learning progress or earned coins.
Refunded or reversed purchases have their coins removed from the purchased balance. If those coins have already been spent, the purchased balance may become negative and further online shop unlocks may be paused until it is settled. Your learning progress and certificates are not removed. For a payment problem, use Google Play's purchase support or contact SoriNest. Nothing in these terms limits applicable consumer rights, including rights under Australian Consumer Law.
The shared Lobby is text-only. Messages and public lesson invitations are visible to other eligible adults; appearing offline hides presence, not messages you post. Private messaging requires the recipient’s acceptance. Lesson invitations lead to a separate practice room after acceptance. Calls remain optional inside practice rooms and study groups.
4b. Free Lounge access at launch
Sori Lounge is free at launch for eligible adults aged 18 and over who connect an email account and accept the community rules. No coins, subscription or payment card are required for Lounge access. Paid access may be introduced later, with clear pricing and your choice before any purchase. We will not automatically charge money or spend your coins.
Accept the Lounge rules once when joining. You can read them again here via the Friends & Lounge Rules link above. Calls last up to 60 minutes and daily or service usage limits apply. Free access does not guarantee that a partner will be online. Participants choose whether to join a call, share a table photo or accept a private conversation. Existing access and moderation restrictions are preserved.
5. Availability
SoriNest may update, modify, improve, temporarily suspend or discontinue features as the application develops.
6. Intellectual property
SoriNest software, branding, original artwork, original lesson presentation and other original SoriNest materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
7. Limitation
SoriNest is provided as a learning application. To the extent permitted by applicable law, SoriNest is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising solely from use of the application.
8. Changes
These Terms may be updated as SoriNest develops. The date above identifies the current version.
